I first saw this little bubble of a balm in my friends hand. We were sitting around in the Student Union building waiting for a friend and she was tossing this around. I asked her what it was, thinking it was some sort of cute headphone carrying case. When she said it was her favorite lip balm I shrugged.
I'm kind of a lip balm fanatic. My secondary purse is my unofficial holder-of-the-balms, and it is heavy with them! Needless to say that unless my lips are in trouble, I don't go hunting for new products.
A month or two later, and one of my favorite nail bloggers did a giveaway and included a couple of these EOS balms. I raised an eyebrow and yet again dismissed it.
Finally I was shopping around on Ulta and saw them. Giving in to curiosity (and since the $3.30 bumped me into free shipping status) I added "Honeysuckle Honeydew" to my cart.
When I got my box it had the balm and a couple perfumes I think. I set the smelly goodness aside and cracked the balm open.
Needless to say, I'm hooked. It doesn't have an overly potent sickeningly sweet scent, nor does it have a pungent flavor if you accidentally taste it. (Remember ladies, it's not good to eat lip balm! Bad! Even if it smells good!) After just a few minutes of having it on, I noticed a difference in my lips. So much softer!
And unlike other balms I've used, if you don't wear it for a day or two your lips don't go into withdrawal.
When you twist off the cap, it looks like there is a little shiny egg inside. I figured I would burn through it pretty fast, or at least make it less pretty. A week later it still looks like it has hardly been used, so I'm guessing that despite applying it every half an hour or so and thoroughly before bed, this baby is gonna last me a long while
EOS Smooth Sphere Lip Balm sells for $3.30 on Ulta.com and comes in 4 flavors: Strawberry Sorbet, Summer Fruit, Sweet Mint, and Honeysuckle Honeydew. There is also an SPF version which is Lemon Drop flavored.
